What a start to the year to have MTB Sport rider Andrew Butler feature on the cover of Australian Mountain Bike Magazine. Andy was fortunate enough to be chosen alongside Thomas Booth to join the AMB Mag crew to ride and shoot at Maydena Mountain Bike Park prior to opening.
After riding at Maydena Bike Park for the shoot, Andy was so impressed with the gnarly mountain bike trails the Dirt Art crew had created. The MTB Sport crew have been lucky enough to make a couple of trips to Maydena since opening and boy are we lucky to have another amazing mountain bike riding destination right on our doorstep.
We would like to welcome Queensland shredder Max Harrison to the MTB Sport team. We’re proud to be able to support Max, a young up and coming rider in his efforts to progress in the sport of mountain biking.
Max races in the SEQDH SEQDHseries and the Shimano Enduro Queensland series. Just this weekend Max put himself on the 3rd step of the podium in round 4 of the SEQDH, his first race kitted out in Rocday mountain bike apparel and Amplifi mountain bike protection from MTB Sport.
Max has been showing great potential with strong race results but most importantly he is committed to mountain biking and loves the sport as do we. We look forward to working with Max into the future and watching his riding progress.
MTB Sport is proud to have Rory Whitelaw join the team as a brand ambassador. Rory is a keen mountain biker with a background racing downhill mountain bikes back in the late 90s, then motocross, but he’s now crossed back and is once again racing mountain bikes. Rory competes in the SEQ Gravity Enduro and SEQ Downhill series. We first met Rory at the Enduro World Series in Derby where he was racing in the Master’s division.
On most weekends, you will find Rory riding the trails around Southeast Queensland, or loading your bike onto the shuttle trailer when you are doing runs with Brisbane Mountain Bike Shuttles @brisbanemtbshuttles. Being involved in riding bikes over such a long time, it is no surprise that Rory values quality gear and we’re pumped to have him using Rocday, Amplifi and Hirzl mountain bike apparel.
If you don’t already you can follow Rory on Instagram @rory_whitelaw. He is also supported by @intensecyclesoz, @international_protein @venture_cycles, give these companies a follow and show your support.
In early April the Enduro World Series hit Australia with the best mountain bike riders in the world descending on Derby in Tasmania. MTB Sport was lucky enough to attend this iconic event to showcase our range of mountain bike apparel from Rocday, Amplifi and Hirzl.
The response to our range of European mountain bike gear was amazing and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came by to check out the range. We’d also like to thank Event Management Solutions for organising and running the event so well, we really hope you can bring EWS back to Australia in the future.
Of course, we also need to congratulate all the riders for putting on an amazing riding display over the weekend, especially in horrifically wet conditions on race day. We’re sure the riders also appreciated the more than enthusiastic spectator support.
See you at the next Enduro World Series Australia!!!!
MTB Sport is proud to have Brad Segda join the team as a brand ambassador. Brad is a passionate mountain biker and trail builder. Working for World Trail Brad has been heavily involved in building the Blue Derby trail network including sections built especially for the Enduro World Series.
It’s no surprise that when he’s not building Brad is riding his bike. Being such an accomplished rider Brad knows quality gear and we’re stoked to have him using Rocday, Amplifi and Hirzl mountain bike apparel.
If you don’t already follow Brad on Instagram check him out @segda_b. This year he will be working on one of the most highly anticipated trail networks soon to begin development in Australia.
MTB Sport is proud to announce that we now stock premium mountain bike packs and travel bags from German brand AMPLIFI.
It’s now six months since we met with the team behind AMPLIFI at Eurobike in Germany. We knew before we arrived in Germany that AMPLIFI produced rad looking, top quality products, you only had to read the reviews to know this. But when we arrived and had the gear in our hands we were so impressed and knew we needed to stock the AMPLIFI range of packs and protection.
It wasn’t just the sick range of functional, durable and great looking gear that impressed us. The designers, engineers and testers have put their heart and soul into making sure every product is the best it can possibly be, re-disigning, re-building and re-testing until perfection is achieved.
The companie mind set and philosophy is what makes AMPLIFI a great brand.
AMPLIFI this: Whether you’re on your bike giving it hell on the sickest trails, ripping crazy lines on your board, or rocking the world on your travels – AMPLIFI is stoked for any adventure.
AMPLIFI was born from the idea of doing something of our own and developing the best protectors on the market while we were doing it. We made our passion for biking, snowboarding and the outdoors our calling. It meant we could make products for other riders that give them the ultimate in comfort, protection and user-friendliness. Any less doesn’t cut it when you’re tumbling down a damn mountain.
We spend a lot of time at the drawing board so that you can shred with your friends outside, so that you can keep pushing each other and developing new skills. We test our products ourselves, of course – our team riders hit the pistes and trails every day and give us feedback. Together, we make improvements, tear everything up and start over again, until we’re convinced that we’ve created THE ultimate product. Then we crack open a beer and celebrate with you. It’s insane how hard you can shred when you know how well you’re protected.
You’ve gotta to do what you can’t do without. That’s why we do what we can do. We are AMPLIFI.
The warehouse has been busy this weekend unpacking a shipment of sweet new mountain bike gloves from Rocday. We couldn’t be happier with the range which includes three models, Flow, Element and Evo.
The quality of these MTB gloves is outstanding and a testament to the hard work put in by Rocday sourcing the highest quality fabrics and testing prototypes.
Whether you prefer a light weight glove for a direct feel on the bars or something with a little more padding and protection we have your hands covered. There’s also a great range of colours to suit everyone’s taste.
